We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Modern Matron to provide visible clinical leadership across Whitby community nursing team. Role: Band 8a Modern Matron
Location: Whitby (North Yorkshire)
Contract: 3 months
Pay: £38.00p/h – £62.00p/h Ltd.
Hours: Full time but will consider part time for the right candidate
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership to aligned services including the community ward and community nursing team.
* Ensure high professional standards and safe, effective service delivery using evidence-based practice.
* Contribute to patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
* Support the senior leadership team in implementing strategic objectives.
* Monitor service performance and drive improvement initiatives across teams.
* Lead, motivate, and inspire staff to embrace change and deliver high-quality care.
* Work collaboratively across organisational boundaries, fostering multi-professional partnerships.
Person Specification
Essential
* Current Adult Nursing registration (NMC/HCPC live register)
* Masters level education or significant advanced knowledge/experience
* Leadership experience at an advanced level with proven impact on service delivery
* Strong understanding of clinical standards, audit, policy, and legislation
* Effective communication skills at all levels, including strategic leadership
* Good project and time management skills
* Ability to commute between multiple sites as required
Desirable
* Non-medical prescribing qualification
* Teaching qualification
* Specialist Practice in District Nursing or advanced/expert clinical qualification
* Membership of relevant professional networks at local, regional, or national level
