Job Overview
The Senior Engineer is a vital part of our business, acting as a critical friend to engineers and serving as the first line of management into the leadership team. They are typically the most experienced engineers in the team and, with time, develop leadership abilities. They are responsible for the day-to-day welfare of their team members, supported by the RPS and REM. Additionally, they focus on continuous improvement of our engineering workforce, contributing to the development of their engineers, and fostering mutual respect through difficult conversations when necessary.
Main Duties
1. Ensure audits and compliance are completed on time each month.
2. Manage and own the on-call rota.
3. Act as an in-region escalation point.
4. Assist the RPS & REM as needed.
5. Coach engineers on awareness topics, such as job roles, use of Verisae, and high-quality dockets.
6. Control van stock.
7. Manage stores (if in region).
8. Collaborate with RPS on docket quality.
9. Participate in Stage 1 interviews from a technical perspective.
