About Skyscanner
Everyone loves travelling, but planning is not without its challenges. That's why we've spent 20 years building tools that turn travel‑planning chaos into a breeze. Today, around 100 million travellers count on us every month to skip the whole "47 browser tabs open" phase and find flights, cars, and hotels quickly and easily.
Joining Skyscanner means becoming part of a global brand that's striving to become the planet's go-to travel hack accessible for all.
Our vision? To be the world's number one travel ally. (Ambitious? Yes, but, hey, that's what got us here).
About The Role
Hybrid.
It's an exciting time to join our Finance Tribe and help shape the future of Skyscanner's evolving procurement function. As our operations expand, so does the complexity (and cost!) of the services we procure. You'll collaborate globally to define and deliver value‑driven procurement strategies, ensuring every spend makes sense - commercially, strategically, and sustainably.
This is your chance to build category strategies from the ground up in a fast‑moving, "greenfield" environment. You'll make a real impact, working closely with senior leaders on complex, high‑profile projects - delivering with autonomy, visibility, and purpose.
What You'll Be Doing
* Owning category strategy: Build and execute strategies for Technology (SaaS, Cloud, Data/AI, InfoSec) and other category areas as needed - with a primary focus on supporting our Engineering teams' tech needs.
* Running end‑to‑end sourcing activity: Lead RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, engage with markets, design scoring frameworks, and recommend award decisions based on insight and impact.
* Negotiating smart commercials: Shape pricing, benchmarking, service credits, and outcome‑based models to land high‑impact, best‑in‑class deals.
* Contracting & governance: Partner with Legal to craft MSAs/SOWs/SLAs that make sense - focusing on IPR, liability, and audit while keeping our contract database sharp and compliant.
* Managing Risk & ESG: Embed sustainability and supplier diversity into everything you do, while managing third‑party risk alongside Security, Privacy, and Compliance.
* SRM & performance: Lead QBRs, monitor SLAs/KPIs, handle escalations, and drive innovation with our most strategic suppliers.
* Optimising consumption: Partner with Engineering, IT, and FinOps to reduce SaaS and Cloud TCO - tackling shadow IT and duplicative tools before they even appear.
* Process & tools: Improve procurement playbooks, templates, and policies while leading adoption of eSourcing/S2P and CLM tools.
* Stakeholder management: Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders - framing problems clearly, surfacing market insight, and influencing decisions with persuasive storytelling.
* Benefits tracking: Measure what matters by capturing savings, value adds, and risk reductions - collaborating with Finance for validation and sign‑off.
About You
* Hands‑on: You roll up your sleeves, transition fast, and bring others along for the ride.
* Procurement proven: You've thrived in dynamic, high‑growth settings, owning complex sourcing end‑to‑end.
* Tech sourcing depth: Skilled across SaaS, Cloud, Data/AI, InfoSec, and colleague IT - you've delivered impactful tech procurement projects recently.
* Contract fluent: You speak fluent Legalese - especially when it comes to IP, SLAs, liability, and exit clauses.
* Commercially astute: A confident negotiator who influences internal stakeholders and external suppliers with data and instinct to land the best outcomes for Skyscanner.
* Risk aware: You have a practical grip on supplier risk, tenacity, and due diligence - no nasty surprises on your watch.
* Data savvy: You love a spreadsheet almost as much as a strategy - modelling TCOs, tracking benefits, and making data‑driven calls.
* Trusted advisor: You communicate crisply, influence confidently, and tailor your approach across levels and teams.
* Tooling literate / AI forward: Familiar with eSourcing/S2P and CLM platforms - and excited about how AI can make procurement smarter and slicker.
* Independent & grit: Equally comfortable zooming out to set strategy and zooming in to get it done.
* Travel ready: Up for occasional travel to connect with key suppliers and stakeholders.
* Nice to have: MCIPS/CPSM, FinOps collaboration experience, ISO 20400 knowledge, and a broad understanding of modern IT infrastructure.
