What's involved with this role: JOB TITLE: Building Surveyor REF: Portsmouth 5270018 Pay rate: £28.00 per hour PAYE HNC level preferred or equivalent. Flexible working available. Driving license and own vehicle essential. The role: On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Building Surveyor who will be based in Gosport within a Property Services team reporting to the Senior Building Surveyor. You will carry out a wide range of duties across a varied 3,000 housing stock, together with their asset portfolio of corporate operational, commercial and community assets. You will predominantly be attending day to day repairs, updating stock data, evaluating and diagnosing what work is required, assessing the best options to carry out the work and issuing response repairs. What the client is looking for: HNC level qualification preferred or equivalent experience Driving license and own vehicle essential Previous experience and knowledge of general day to day response repairs in a housing or commercial environment. Excellent building construction technology and building pathology knowledge Previous experience of construction related health & safety legislation knowledge generally and be able to apply specifically the working at height regulations, and Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Able to carry out stock data and measured surveys, accurately recording stock data as appropriate. Experience of cost control techniques and good commercial awareness when undertaking cost estimates for larger repair work Ability to interrogate, analyse and evaluate previous repair information Excellent IT skills using Excel spreadsheets with ability to accurately update data as part of undertaking the surveying role.
