Dementia Ambassador - Kincaid House, Greenock
About the Role
We are seeking passionate and committed Dementia Ambassadors to help promote understanding, inclusion, and best practice in dementia awareness within our home.
As a Dementia Ambassador, you will play a key role in raising awareness of dementia, supporting colleagues, and families, influencing positive change, and helping to create dementia‑friendly environments where individuals feel respected, understood, and supported.
Dementia Ambassadors will act as practice leaders, supporting high-quality dementia care by:
* Supporting colleagues to apply dementia-friendly care and communication.
* Support and deliver dementia awareness sessions, briefings, or informal learning.
* Provide guidance and signposting to colleagues, service users, families, and carers.
* Work with the home management team to contribute to the development of dementia‑friendly environments, activities and initiatives linked to your homes Dementia Strategy.
About You
We're looking for people who are:
* Passionate about improving experiences for people living with dementia.
* Empathetic, approachable, and confident engaging with people.
* Committed to learning and supporting others.
* Strong desire to improve outcomes for people living with dementia.
Essential Criteria
* Experience working with or supporting people living with dementia (professional or lived experience).
* A basic understanding of dementia and its impact on individuals and families.
