Wellbeing (Activities) Assistant at Bridgewater Manor Care Centre (Part-time, Permanent)

Bridgewater Manor, a purpose-built care home in Worsley Village, Salford, is registered to care for 71 residents with diverse needs, including residential and nursing care. The home meets all CQC standards, prioritizing safety, comfort, and high-quality care. We invest in the latest technology and offer a variety of daily activities and gentle exercises to enhance residents' wellbeing. Our team members are carefully selected for their warmth and passion, supported by comprehensive training from our in-house trainers and the New Care Academy. The home is rated GOOD by CQC in all domains. We pride ourselves on employing a permanent staff team, ensuring continuity of care and building trust with residents. All staff are paid at least the national minimum wage.
We are seeking a kind, enthusiastic, and fun Wellbeing Assistant to join our team. Your role will involve creating a caring and inclusive culture around therapeutic activities, supporting the Wellbeing Coordinator in developing a comprehensive programme that involves the whole team. This is a 24-hour contract with an excellent hourly rate of £12.21. Shifts are from 10:00 to 16:00, with alternate weekends, and some flexibility is required to meet the needs of the home.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to the development of weekly activity programmes that promote physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing among residents.
2. Create innovative programmes that enable residents to achieve their potential and enjoy meaningful activities.
3. Motivate and guide staff to incorporate wellbeing and activities into their roles, with support from the Wellbeing Coordinator.
4. Familiarize yourself with each resident’s life story and wellbeing plan, contributing to and reviewing these plans regularly.
5. Ensure risk assessments are up-to-date and in place for all activities, in liaison with the Wellbeing Coordinator.
6. Understand the needs related to various conditions residents may have.
7. Promote and safeguard the welfare of all adults involved in your work.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Experience working with older people is essential.
2. Experience delivering activity programmes is essential.
3. Ability to assess, plan, and evaluate activity needs for older adults is essential.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
6. Ability to prioritize tasks and handle emergencies effectively.
7. Creative, imaginative, enthusiastic, and capable of forward planning.
