Accounts Assistant
Location: Telford
Salary: £27,500 – £29,000
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm (core hours; home working at manager’s discretion)
About the Role
Join our client as an Accounts Assistant and play a key part in our finance team. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the purchase ledger, cash management, and treasury reporting. This is a collaborative role, working closely with colleagues in the finance team.

Key Responsibilities
* Log and process purchase invoices, match to goods received notes and approved purchase orders, and check prices.
* Prepare weekly supplier payment listings and make authorised payments.
* Reconcile GRNI reports and maintain direct debits.
* Manage cash flow, including daily bank reconciliations and cash postings.
* Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow reports for the Central Treasury Department.
* Handle intercompany netting and reconciliations, VAT returns, and allocation of payments/receipts.
* Support year-end audit work and recommend process improvements.
* Carry out any reasonable tasks requested by management.

* Proven experience in purchase ledger and cash management functions.
* Strong Excel skills and accurate numeracy.
* Ability to meet deadlines and targets, with excellent attention to detail.
* Flexible, committed team player with strong communication skills.
