About Us
️At AirAdvisor, we are dedicated to ensuring air travelers receive the compensation they are entitled to for flight disruptions. We handle issues like delay, cancellation, missed connection, or airline-related problems such as overbooking. In June 2025, we launched a new service for baggage claims for lost, delayed, and/or destroyed luggage. We operate in the EU, UK, and other international markets, focusing on protecting air passenger rights globally. We have processed over 480,000 claims for clients from 221 countries, with a 4.7-star rating from 25,000+ reviews. Currently, we operate in 21 languages (with 9 more planned this year). AirAdvisor is a fast-growing startup with a vision for international expansion, aiming to reach 1 million claims by the end of 2026.
We seek a highly skilled Litigation Lawyer specializing in consumer flight claims (mainly via small claims procedure) to lead in-court collections, owning or planning to open their own boutique legal firm in the UK. Pre-court collections are managed by paralegals. You will file batches of court cases to recover compensation and reimburse passengers for Out-of-Pocket Expenses (OPE) and ticket refunds. We handle three main types of airline claims: EU261 compensation for delays, cancellations, denied boarding, and baggage claims under the Montreal Convention: lost, delayed, and destroyed luggage.
If the law or a judge rules unfairly, we may consider legal escalation or legislative advocacy. PR opportunities may arise from court victories and legal issues to raise public awareness. This role is ideal for high performers with strong litigation experience, a passion for consumer rights, and the ability to self-perform.
The candidate must be free from conflicts of interest to litigate against airlines.
Requirements:
* A valid UK Attorney at Law license and professional liability insurance.
* A law degree from an accredited institution.
* Experience with small claims, consumer rights, or aviation law is a plus but not required.
* Knowledge of relevant consumer protection laws and aviation regulations is a plus, but not required.
* Proven success in in-court collection.
* Strong analytical and legal research skills.
* Ability to manage caseloads, prioritize, meet deadlines, and track statutes of limitations.
* Experience in automating and scaling claims management processes.
Responsibilities:
* Represent AirAdvisor legally in the UK, handling all legal matters and claims filed locally. If setting up a law firm in the UK is feasible, assist with corporate structuring, registering as a foreign legal counsel, etc.
* Pre-court collections and out-of-court settlements.
* File batches of approximately 200+ claims monthly in UK courts against airlines to recover:
(a) Compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004 and/or Turkish SHY Regulation.
(b) Reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses under EU261/2004 and the Montreal Convention.
(c) Ticket refunds.
(d) Baggage claims for delayed, damaged, or lost luggage.
* Respond to airline defenses assertively, including substantive, procedural, and jurisdictional challenges.
* Enforce court judgments, including initiating enforcement proceedings.
* Negotiate settlements in court, representing AirAdvisor’s interests.
* Maintain accurate legal files, ensuring compliance with legal ethics, data protection, and standards. Conduct legal research for best practices.
* Stay updated on consumer protection laws, aviation regulations, and judicial precedents.
* If needed, pursue remedies including appeals and legislative advocacy.
* Support automation of claims workflows using legal tech, including AI tools.
* Identify new business opportunities in low-value, high-volume litigation, such as bank, financial, or labor disputes.
* Conduct cross-jurisdictional legal research across EU markets for UK adaptation.
* Represent AirAdvisor in media, including interviews and PR efforts to promote consumer rights.
* Review and vet content as a local content reviewer.
* Advocate for passenger rights within the travel industry.
* Embrace innovation and new AI solutions.
* Be self-aware, responsible, and results-oriented.
* Work independently and manage multiple projects.
* Drive customer satisfaction and go above and beyond.
* Communicate clearly and effectively.
We offer:
* Remote-first culture with flexible hours.
* Paid Time Off & Holidays.
* Annual reviews and bonuses.
* Growth opportunities in global expansion.
* Dynamic work environment with new skills development.
* Supportive, international team.
Job Type: Freelance / Service Agreement / B2B.
