Electrical Maintenance Engineer
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company based in Poole.
Introduction
The primary role of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be to perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance on a range of production machinery, equipment and site systems.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance on production equipment and site systems.
* Install, modify and commission new manufacturing equipment, ensuring compliance with electrical and safety standards.
* Inspect, test, and maintain electrical panels, control gear, isolators, and low-voltage systems.
* Build and modify electrical distribution boxes and control panels to support machinery upgrades.
* Perform fault finding and repairs on electrical and electronic components, including PLC-controlled equipment.
* Carry out isolations, safety checks, and electrical repairs in line with site procedures and regulations.
* Maintain accurate fault reports, maintenance records, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
* Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability.
* Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities that are within your capabilities as the Company may from time-to-time require.
* Comply with company QSHE policies and procedures as well as any other QSHE requirements of the role.
Ideal Experience:
* Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Maintenance (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
* Proven industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or process environment.
* Strong competence in safe isolation, routine fault finding, and interpreting electrical schematics.
* Experience working with electrical panels, distribution boards, and control systems.
* Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and deliver solutions under pressure.
Desired Qualifications:
* Knowledge of PLC systems and electronics
* Experience working with extruders
* Forklift licence would be advantageous.
Salary:
£35,000 - £40,000
Hours:
Monday to Friday 7.00am - 3.30pm
