Overview
We are seeking a skilled/semi-skilled Operator to join our dynamic team to undertake the renovation of a number of axle units. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fabrication and mechanical processes, demonstrating proficiency in operating various machinery and tools. This role is vital in ensuring that the efficient inspection and overhaul are completed in a timely manner while adhering to safety standards and operational protocols.
Duties
* Operate and maintain fabrication equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
* Conduct inspection and overhaul of each axle, removing debris and rust.
* Handle materials efficiently, ensuring proper storage and inventory management.
* Employ hand tools for assembly tasks, ensuring accuracy and quality in production.
* Conduct welding tasks as required, following safety guidelines.
* Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve operational efficiency.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, complying with health and safety regulations.
Skills
* Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience with the workings and components of axles.
* Proficiency in the use of hand tools and various tooling techniques. (including Steam Cleaner)
* Previous warehouse and workshop experience is advantageous, particularly in materials handling.
* Ability to work effectively within a team while also demonstrating independent problem-solving skills.
* Familiarity with assembly processes and welding techniques is highly desirable.
* Physically fit with the ability to undertake the manual tasks required (lifting, bending etc)
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6-9 months
Pay: £13.00 per hour
