This post is fixed term for 6 months to meet the needs of the service. MAE'R SWYDD HON YN GYFNOD PENODOL AM 6 MIS I CWRDD GOFYNION Y GWASANAETH. This Band 4 post is in the acute hospital setting; the technician will support dispensing and accuracy checking, stock control, ward-based medicines management and patient counselling, ensuring timely and accurate supply of medicines under senior supervision.
This role suits a motivated and flexible technician keen to develop their skills across sectors. Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills, along with a commitment to professional development, are essential.
Main duties of the job
The post covers a wide range of duties including:
* Dispensary based activities
* Counselling patients
* Dispensing Controlled Drugs and psychiatry medication
* Repeat medication
* Discharge Lounge support
* Ward team roles, supporting medicines management
* Medicines reconciliation
* The opportunity for Aseptic rotation may also be available
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications And/or Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Willing to undertake medicines management training
* Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Services Skills (or equivalent)
Desirable criteria
* Membership of relevant professional association
Experience
Essential criteria
* General dispensing
* Basic knowledge of the therapeutic use of drugs
* Good understanding of operation of hospital pharmacy services
Desirable criteria
* Working in hospital pharmacy dispensary services
