This is a fixed-term post of 18 months.
The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Thursday 08.30 – 16.30, Friday 09.30 – 16.00.
Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours.
The opportunity has arisen to join the Renfrewshire School Nursing Team as a Health Care Support Worker on a secondment/ fixed term for 18-months. Renfrewshire covers an expansive geographical area with varying demographics. The Renfrewshire School Nursing Service is a targeted, referral in service supporting the health needs of children and young people within 11 High School, 52 Primary Schools and one Additional Support for Learning School.
As fully detailed within the job description, the post holder will support the School Nursing team to provide an accessible, appropriate, culturally sensitive, safe, person centred and effective service for children, (age 5-11) and young people (aged 12-19) and families in the community, by working in partnership with service users, care providers and other agencies.
You will support the work of the existing team delegated and supervised by the SCPHN School Nurses and Team Leader. A key component of the role will be to plan and facilitate Primary 1 Screening of height and weight including documenting within the child’s EMIS health record. It is therefore essential applicants have experience of supporting this programme within a School Nursing Team and working with children/young people. You will bring experience and understanding of the Getting It Right For Every Child, GIRFEC, principles and UNCRC principles. You will fulfil child protection and safe guarding responsibilities in line with your role and current Child Protection Guidance and local policy. A working knowledge of EMIS is advantageous as is a full UK driving licence. If applying for a secondment please ensure you have agreement from your current line manager prior to application.
