FCRMS Asset Management Business Systems Team Senior Advisor – 32232
Overview
The Environment Agency (EA) is committed to creating better places for people, wildlife, and the environment. The EA places the climate emergency at the heart of all activities and supports society to adapt to environmental challenges such as flooding, drought, sea‑level rise, and coastal change. The Asset Management Business Systems Team (AMBST) supports all EA teams and suppliers in using carbon tools and ensuring they become core asset‑management systems alongside other AMBST supported tools for the infrastructure programme and asset management.
Responsibilities
 * Support EA and external users of operational carbon tools.
 * Manage and deliver a range of services to users of carbon tools.
 * Agree and maintain services with a range of different user groups.
 * Act as senior product user for digital improvement projects of our carbon tools and data.
 * Plan and manage user activities in the implementation of carbon tool changes and improvements.
 * Manage the resources and funding for carbon tools support and maintenance.
 * Work with operational carbon communities and national leads as required.
 * Collaborate with IT suppliers, EA colleagues, FCRM, Operations teams, Defra’s Digital, Data and Technology Services (DDTS), Local Authorities, Water Companies, Internal Drainage Boards, and the civil engineering supply chain.
Qualifications / Experience
 * Significant experience and knowledge in carbon management in infrastructure assets, projects or programmes.
 * Experience in asset management and/or infrastructure business processes.
 * Experience in digital tool development or user implementation services.
 * Experience in development of training and documentation.
 * Knowledge and skills in stakeholder engagement and effective communication.
 * Ability to identify, analyse, evaluate and implement improved ways of working.
 * Ability to make decisions and solve complex business problems.
 * Strong focus on efficiency, innovation and quality.
 * Strong focus on customers and partners and ability to build and sustain relationships.
 * Ability to manage yourself and work on your own initiative.
Competences
 * Provide a specific example of a solution delivered by effectively analysing information, probing alternatives, and taking sound and timely decisions.

Additional Information
The role is predominantly office‑based; travel will be required occasionally. Any location for your office base is acceptable. All new employees undertake training and incident‑response participation as required. Fully funded opportunities to develop further academic or professional qualifications are provided. Interviews will be scheduled from the week commencing 1st December 2025.
