We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Crime Paralegal to join our Inquiry & General teams. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our solicitors with various tasks related to criminal inquiries and general crime matters. Our Inquiry & General team works on a diverse range of cases, each requiring thorough attention to detail and adherence to legal protocols. You will have the chance to contribute to significant cases while developing your legal knowledge and skills.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the preparation of legal documents and case files for criminal inquiries.
* Conduct legal research and gather evidence to assist solicitors in building cases.
* Organise and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
* Engage with clients to collect information and provide them with updates regarding their cases.
* Attend court hearings and inquiries, taking notes and providing support as needed.
* Stay informed about changes and developments in criminal law and relevant legal practices.
Requirements
* Law degree or equivalent legal qualifications.
* Prior experience as a paralegal or in a related legal support role is preferred.
* Strong comprehension of criminal law and inquiry procedures.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple cases effectively.
* Strong analytical and research skills.
* Passion for social justice and client advocacy.
* Experience or familiarity with inquiry processes is advantageous.
