Job Description
Varied responsibilities for the General Counsel include:
1. Providing hands-on and strategic legal counsel to the company President, senior leadership team and business stakeholders.
2. Ensure a healthy culture of robust compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as industry regulations.
3. Overseeing corporate governance matters.
4. Managing a small legal and compliance team who largely handle day-to-day contract management.
5. Manage outside counsel on complex matters (. litigation when needed).
6. Oversee and advise on risk management strategies to protect the organization.
7. Lead, mentor and develop the legal team to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
8. Collaborate with other departments to support business objectives while mitigating legal risks.
9. Remote role with some domestic travel and occasional international travel.
