Industrial Relations Business Partner

Team

easyJet works closely with approximately 30 different social partners (Unions and Works Councils) across 8 countries within Europe, negotiating and consulting on a wide range of topics on an annual basis. The Industrial Relations team is responsible for managing these relationships, escalations and negotiating agreements with our social partners around our network. You will be the lead for all negotiations in the countries for which you are responsible.

Working closely with the in country HR Manager and in country Operations lead you will oversee the planning, management and delivery of negotiations while also working to build credible and meaningful relationships. This is an expanding team so we are looking for a high calibre candidate who has a proven record of successful negotiations and relationships and is able to effectively influence stakeholders across the business.

What you'll be doing

The ideal candidate for this role should possess the ability to translate legal and negotiated IR concerns into practical implications for easyJet and effectively handle changes in a fast-paced European setting.
As the SME focal point, the primary role is to ensure positive and productive relationships with unions and works council partners while leading industrial agreements, managing their negotiation, and recording and filing related data..

The SME also works with HRBP and the central IR team to integrate the IR agenda and raise IR awareness among line management. The SME is responsible for staying up to date with employee legislation, ensuring compliance, and managing any changes through policy updates and coordination with Service Operations. Additionally, they manage relationships with local employment law providers.

What you'll bring to the team

The team will benefit the addition of a highly skilled and experienced IR specialist with a strong focus on business and a commercial mindset. Have proven ability to balance cost, quality, and fairness to deliver the best value for easyJet. Delivery-focused and possess a creative approach to problem solving, have previous of IR experience including negotiations with trade unions and work councils across Europe.

Skills and Experience

⦁ Business focused IR specialist with a strong commercial mind set, able to see the big picture and able to balance cost, quality and fairness to get best value for easyJet
⦁ Have strong data analysis and persuasive problem-solving skills, enabling them to drive change and improvement.
⦁ A successful track record in project management, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, is required. Excellent people skills, and ability to work well under pressure.
⦁ IR experience including negotiating regularly with trade unions and / or work councils
⦁ Ability to frame legal and negotiated IR issues into practical implications for easyJet
⦁ Ability to draw insight from data and to provide persuasive challenge to drive change & improvement
⦁ Ability to influence, challenge and build trust at senior level including successfully facilitating cross functional decision making
⦁ Strong project management, influencing & negotiation skills
⦁ Sensitive people skills - a high level of emotional intelligence, excellent interpersonal skills and a wide understanding of people issues with a track record of delivering through influencing
⦁ Ability and willingness to travel as required

Location & Hours of Works
