Role / Department
A vacancy has arisen in our Private Equity (PE) Operations team. You will be a key member within the administration team while providing support to the wider team that administers a variety of clients or a very large client with an active investment portfolio. You will liaise with internal teams and the Investment Advisor, complete various non-accounting tasks, all aspects of accounting, and ad-hoc queries within scheduled timeframes to meet client KPIs.
Responsibilities
* Providing premier client service by building strong relationships with the Investment Advisor and other third parties
* Developing thorough knowledge of the client and bespoke requirements for key processes
* Working closely with the client to resolve complex issues and queries
* Monitoring assigned mailboxes and completing tasks assigned by management
* Perform reviews of junior team members’ work
* Complex accounts preparation/review under various GAAP/IFRS standards
* Investments: update and maintain investment and portfolio records, including processing purchases and disposals, recording income receipts, quarterly valuations, and other complex investment transactions
* Investor Calls/Distributions: calculate call/distribution amounts, liaise with clients and investors regarding receipts/payments, and maintain accounting records with financial institutions
* Company Secretarial duties: assist in preparation of minutes/agendas; process investor transfers; maintain investor information; review external payment workflows
* Develop client-specific knowledge to facilitate the delivery of ad-hoc queries, including understanding fund structures and how they interact with one another
* AIFMD and Solvency II Reporting: review data and file final reports with regulators/investors as applicable
* Tax Reporting: provide information for tax returns to internal/external professionals; review qualitative and quantitative data prior to the supply of returns; liaise with internal departments such as CDD and Tax across FATCA/CRS and UK, German, US tax reporting
Qualifications
* Hold an accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA preferred) and be familiar with UK, US, and Lux GAAPs
* Partially-qualified or with at least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably with debt instruments, will be considered
* Have a general understanding of the Guernsey Company / POI / Partnership laws and possess the ability to keep up to date with all applicable legal developments
* Confidence in communicating directly with clients and other senior stakeholders
* Good team player, self-starter, flexible, with the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
* Able to demonstrate professional judgement and attitude in all aspects of work, including thorough self-review of own work
