Are you someone that provides comprehensive support services to a waste management team?
We're recruiting on behalf of a Local Government team to add a Waste Management Support Assistant- A vital role dedicated to safeguarding the health, wellbeing, and quality of life of residents, workers, and visitors across the Borough.
The role:
* Identifying information and training needs within the business and residential community, and planning awareness campaigns to promote compliance and wellbeing.
* Inspecting, auditing and risk assessing premises across the full range of Environmental Health functions.
* Investigating and resolving complaints, providing professional advice, and taking appropriate enforcement or educational action.
* Preparing statutory notices, prosecution files, and acting as an expert witness when required.
* Liaising with government departments, businesses, and community organisations to deliver effective partnerships and service improvements.
* Assisting with emergency responses such as pollution incidents, infectious disease control, or food safety investigations.
* Contributing to policy development, service improvement initiatives, and health education programmes.
* Providing guidance and supervision to students or newly appointed Environmental Health Officers.
The Person
As the successful candidate, you will have the following background and experience:
Essential:
* 5 GCSEs including maths and English.
* Previous experience in administrative or clerical roles previously.
* Competency in Microsoft Office.
