Farm Manager – Neale Farm
Shift Pattern and Hours – This role is a 5 days from 7 shift pattern, with a 6th as required, covering 48 hours a week.
Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Farm Manager to join the team, who if not already, will become an eggspert of poultry in Pilgrims Europe! The successful candidate will provide overall responsibility of the Broiler Farm, including all aspects of husbandry, ensuring all stock produced is of the highest possible standard and meets the required specification in terms of weight, quality, health & safety, welfare, etc. The role encompasses commercial and financial aspects of the farm, working to financial and physical budgets, and where appropriate, managing and developing a team of people.
Responsibilities
* Maintain the professional integrity and appearance of the farm and dwellings at all times.
* Ensure all health, safety and hygiene processes are adhered to and that the farm staff are able to carry out their daily duties.
* Manage and monitor environmental systems, feed, water, and ventilation systems within agreed guidelines to ensure the highest quality environment so that the birds can thrive.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all matters relating to the birds, food, and suppliers, ensuring that an adequate supply is maintained and controlled to acceptable levels, including management of alarms which may require call outs.
* Work autonomously as a sound decision maker and coordinate the work of other individuals to ensure continuous operation of the farm.
Qualifications
* Previous involvement in field (broiler farm management experience).
* Level 3 Poultry Passport Qualification (or ideally already held).
* Sound decision making skills.
* People management skills, including experience.
* Full Driving Licence.
* Experience in budget management.
* Knowledge of environmental issues.
