Job Description Summary
The Senior Sustaining Engineer is responsible for providing a high level, and wide breadth, of technical expertise in sustaining the current range of infusion products and introducing new products. The role focuses on meeting customer and business expectations for safety, quality, delivery and cost through the execution of programs, projects and activities covering problem definition, investigation, solution and engineering change of manufacturing processes and product designs, including manufacturing location changes. This includes the development of high value‑added practices, processes and systems to implement functional strategies and organizational goals. Ensure effective manufacturing support on existing and new products with respect to business targets.
The Senior Sustaining Engineer will lead projects and teams of engineers and technical staff to deliver effective manufacturing sustaining support for existing and new products with respect to safety, quality, cost, delivery and people targets.
About the Role
As Senior Sustaining Engineer you will be dedicated to advancing infusion technology and improving patient care. This role combines technical expertise with leadership to sustain existing products and introduce new solutions. You will work on projects that ensure safety, quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery while driving innovation in manufacturing processes and product design.
Main Responsibilities
* Deliver technical leadership for projects and transitions, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
* Provide engineering solutions for complex problems through structured analysis and collaboration.
* Drive improvements in manufacturing processes to meet quality, cost, and regulatory requirements.
* Lead teams to implement engineering changes and support product lifecycle activities.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and quality systems, including risk management.
* Develop and apply best practices in design for manufacture, assembly, and validation.
* Support team development through mentoring and regular performance reviews.
* Contribute to achieving operational goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
About You
* Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification with strong manufacturing engineering expertise.
* Experience in processes such as assembly, machining, PCBA manufacture, and plastic injection moulding.
* Skilled in techniques including FMEA, tolerance analysis, and configuration control.
* Knowledge of CAD, PLM systems, and validation activities for engineering change.
* Proven ability to lead projects and influence cross‑functional teams in a regulated environment.
* Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to implementing solutions.
Salary Range for the Role
£60,000 to £63,000 per annum + benefits.

Primary Work Location: GBR Winnersh – Eskdale Road.
