Main duties of the job
The post holder will play a key role in delivering high-quality specialist care for patients with lymphoma. This includes undertaking comprehensive assessments, coordinating individualised care plans, and providing expert nursing guidance. They will also take an active role in running nurse-led lymphoma clinics and performing advanced clinical interventions relevant to the service.
In addition, the role involves contributing to the effective organisation of the clinical area, ensuring that clinics operate efficiently and that safety standards are upheld at all times.
The successful applicant will also be expected to support the development of junior staff, offering supervision, coaching and training to help build their confidence and specialist competence.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will contribute to the delivery of high-quality specialist nursing care for patients with lymphoma. This includes undertaking detailed assessments, designing and implementing individualised care plans, offering expert clinical advice, and performing advanced nursing procedures within the scope of the service.
A key part of the role is supporting the development of the wider team. The post holder will act as a positive and professional role model, offering guidance to peers, supervising junior colleagues, and mentoring students to enhance their clinical confidence and competence.
Throughout all aspects of practice, the post holder will uphold the safety, dignity and rights of every service user, ensuring that care is consistently person-centred, respectful and aligned with national and organisational standards.
Clinical Responsibilities
1. Advocate for patients throughout their care pathway, ensuring that the service maintains a compassionate, patient-focused approach that reflects the principles of NHS quality standards and relevant national guidance.
2. Deliver safe, effective and culturally sensitive care, ensuring that patients' beliefs, preferences and individual circumstances are recognised and respected.
3. Identify situations that may compromise the health or wellbeing of patients and take appropriate action to prevent or mitigate harm.
4. Provide clinical leadership by guiding the team in planning, delivering and reviewing specialist lymphoma care, promoting consistent use of evidence-based practice.
5. Support and empower patients and their families to participate in decisions related to treatment options and ongoing management.
Quality and Service Improvement
6. Contribute to delivering a high-quality and cost-effective specialist service by engaging in audit, service evaluation and other quality-improvement initiatives set by the Trust.
7. Promote positive communication and strong working relationships between staff, patients, carers and visitors.
8. Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support coordinated and integrated care.
9. Recognise and respond to circumstances that may pose risks to patient or staff safety, escalating concerns promptly to senior clinical leaders.
Education and Training
10. Take part in the Trust’s clinical supervision framework to promote reflective practice and continuous professional development.
11. Identify the learning needs of patients and carers and develop appropriate education or information sessions to support their understanding of lymphoma and its treatments.
12. Contribute to the delivery of in-house training programmes and assist in developing teaching materials or educational packages as required.
Management and Leadership
13. Provide visible and supportive leadership, demonstrating advanced knowledge and high clinical standards, and offering guidance or specialist insight to colleagues when needed.
14. Adapt and develop the specialist nursing role in response to emerging evidence, service demands and patient needs, within available resources.
15. Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical documentation, ensuring full compliance with confidentiality, data protection and professional standards.

18. Knowledge of basic urology procedures, tests, conditions.

22. Previous post registration experience in urology or oncology
23. Experienced and competent in the management of patients within urology or oncology
