Job Description
YARD FORKLIFT DRIVER / OPERATORWe are looking for a reliable, experienced Yard Forklift Driver / Operator to join a busy yard and production team. The ideal candidate is confident on a counterbalance truck, able to load and unload lorries quickly and safely, and willing to help with general yard and production tasks.Key responsibilities
* Operate a counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently to move pallets and goods around the yard
* Fast, accurate loading and unloading of lorries and trailers
* Build, break down and repair pallets
* Bagging and packing production items as required
* Picking porcelain and other fragile orders with care and attention to detail
* Manual handling of stock-lifting and moving items regularly
* Perform basic daily checks on equipment and maintain a tidy, safe working area
* Assist with ad-hoc tasks across the yard/warehouse as needed
What we're looking for
* Valid counterbalance forklift licence
* Proven experience operating forklifts in a yard/warehouse environment
* Ability to load lorries quickly while maintaining safe working practices
* Comfortable with physical work and regular lifting
* Careful, methodical approach when picking fragile items such as porcelain
* Good teamwork, reliability and a positive attitude
* Basic numeracy and the ability to follow order paperwork
Details
* Full-time temporary position; daytime hours with overtime - Overtime paid at time and half over 40 hours
* Working Hours Monday to Friday 7am - 6pm
