We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Electrician based at St. Andrew’s Stadium, the home of Birmingham City FC. In this role, you’ll carry out both planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the stadium’s systems, working closely with our operations team to deliver a professional, reliable environment for players, staff, fans, and visitors.
Please note, this role will involve weekend working and matchdays as well as supporting the wider maintenance team in the preparation for all first team fixtures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Respond promptly to reactive requests, prioritising issues that impact stadium operations or safety.
* Assist with statutory checks and testing, including emergency lighting, fire alarms, and fixed wire systems.
* Ensure changing rooms, tunnel areas, press zones, hospitality areas, and fan zones are fully operational before gates open with electrical operational support scheduled accordingly.
* Prepare all relevant areas of the stadium for matchdays, including lighting checks, mechanical systems, signage, turnstiles, generators and seating.
* Be present on matchdays to address any maintenance issues quickly and efficiently before, during, and after the event.
* Be the point of contact for any electrical sub-contractors to ensure our electrical systems are maintained safely and efficiently.
* Support other departments with setup or technical requirements for matchday operations.
* Carry out and review risk assessments for maintenance activities and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
* Ensure all work complies with health & safety legislation, club policies, and stadium regulations.
What are we looking for from you?
* Recognised electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds 2365, 2391, NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition).
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems.
* Ability to work reactively and under pressure.
* Experience in a stadium, sports venue, or large events facility.
