Our Surrey Domestic Abuse Children and Young People’s Services (DA CYP) teams consist of highly skilled, passionate professionals delivering primarily trauma aware services to children and young people (11) in families with a young person (11) using harmful behaviour. Operating across Surrey, the teams create relationships with the families and individuals accessing our services, meeting them where they are and working together to foster resilience, develop coping as well as emotional and behavioural management skills, in a context of hopeful and inclusive collaboration. As a Service Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the effective and safe service delivery across the Surrey DA CYP service teams. Indeed, we’ll rely on you to see that the standard of services delivered is of the highest quality and meets the expectations of stakeholders that include Group Leadership Team, service users and external partners, plus commissioners and funders. Providing line management, or ensuring it’s provided, to all members of the team, will be an important aspect of the role too, as will taking lead responsibility for local Safeguarding procedures and making sure all teams fully comply with all relevant requirements and reporting procedures. Overseeing the use and maintenance of systems, regularly reporting on outputs in performance and ensuring we are represented at relevant external meetings – these are just some aspects of a high profile role that also comes with service development, human resources and financial management responsibilities. An accomplished leader with experience of working with Domestic Abuse, you have a flexible and collaborative approach and a proven ability to provide positive direction and purpose and lead by example. You’re also relevantly qualified and accredited and have a good understanding of interventions to improve the safety of survivors, including children, impacted by domestic violence and abuse. Experience of using clinical skills for case assessments and allocations is important too, as is a comprehensive understanding of the nature of domestic violence and its effects on women, young people and children, as well as on child parent relationships. Used to undertaking risk assessments and implementing risk management plans relating to domestic abuse, dealing with safeguarding concerns and incidents comes naturally to you too. Experience of working with young people and/or parents of diverse backgrounds and ethnicities is also essential, ideally including managing work with young people displaying challenging/harmful behaviour.
