MIU Practitioner - Liskeard Hospital

Liskeard Minor Injuries Unit offers a Band 6 Practitioner role in an advanced practice position, covering minor illness and paediatrics. The post operates 8 am‑8 pm with regular rotation shifts covering evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will work autonomously, providing high‑quality care within a small, flexible team.
Main duties
* Deliver effective assessment and treatment of patients without supervision, using evidence‑based practice.
* Manage treatment and evaluate clinical interventions, reflecting the needs of patients attending the unit.
* Be accountable for the delivery of patient care within the unit.
Education & Qualifications
* Professional qualification relevant to the post.
* Current professional registration – 1st Level NMC.
* Post‑graduate specialist training to degree level in a relevant subject area incorporating minor illness.
* Substantial post‑registration practice in MIU, ED/Emergency Care or similar, with education, training and mentorship.
* Mentoring qualification or willingness to work towards it.
Experience, Skills and Aptitude
* Ability to act calmly in emergencies and respond in a professional manner.
* Confidence in working autonomously and delivering high‑quality care.
