Overview
Join Tesla’s flagship Service Technician Traineeship Programme as a Trainee Automotive Mechanic / Service Technician in Southampton. You’ll support our Service operation and help ensure vehicles are repaired & maintained to a high standard for our customers. This 24-month training programme provides expert career training & mentorship from service industry professionals, with practical, on-the-job training hosted from Tesla training facilities in Heathrow and/or Manchester. The programme focuses on potential and on-the-job learning, with a two-stage recruitment process (telephone screening and in-person group assessment).

* Time Type: Full-Time (shift-based - including weekend working)
What You’ll Do
* Learn and understand how to perform basic inspections, repairs & maintenance of Tesla vehicles
* Always follow safety protocols & maintain professionalism
* Learn effectively & efficiently throughout a fast-paced hybrid training schedule
* Effectively handle multiple priorities, workload, and deadlines
* Pass the mid-point & end-point programme assessments in order to graduate from the programme
During the 24-month training you’ll receive world-class training from Tesla technical trainers with a strong emphasis on practical skills and on-the-job experience. All programme training will be hosted from dedicated training facilities in Heathrow and/or Manchester. The programme has a strong focus on potential rather than academic achievement and a two-stage recruitment process.
Your Training & Career Progression
You’ll enroll onto Tesla’s industry-leading in-house training schedule, with progression reviewed at key training intervals. This is an opportunity for motivated self-starters to take accountability for their learning & development, with a view to applying for full-time Tesla Service Technician roles upon completion.
What You'll Bring
* Prior experience with tools, diagnostics, or repair processes – whether through formal education, professional work experience or personal projects
* NVQ/IMI diploma in vehicle maintenance is desirable, but practical know-how and a willingness to learn on the job are welcomed
* Full UK or EU Driving Licence for at least 1 year by the start date
* Eager to embrace a fast-paced hands-on training programme
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Safety-first attitude
* Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities
* Ability to maintain professionalism and represent Tesla positively
* Willingness to travel to different Tesla office locations or events when required
* Willingness to work in shifts to support the team (weekends, mornings, evenings)
* Not be in full-time education when the programme starts
