We are seeking anorganised, efficient, and approachable Medical Secretary to join our team on afixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate willprovide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to our cliniciansand patients.
Main duties of the job
* Make appointments for patients as required.
* Expedite appointments/tests as required.
* Query referrals and appointments as necessary.
* Provide an efficient audio, copy typing and word processing service for GPs and health professionals as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, minutes, memorandums, etc. in an accurate and quality manner
* Use of the PRISM system.
* Make appointments, bookings, e-referrals, admissions, etc. as required.
* Liaise and arrange meetings (to include the booking of rooms) as required and to attend meetings and take minutes.
* Manage the agenda and take minutes for the monthly End of Life/GSF meetings..
* Assist in the organisation, logging and invoicing for medicals, insurance and all other non NHS work.
* Receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.
* Action record requests from patients, solicitors and other representatives as required.
* Assist with processes surrounding a patients death and provide support to medical staff and bereaved families in a sensitive, professional manner.
Any other duties as required as the work of the practice evolves

* Use of the PRISM system.
* Make appointments, bookings, e-referrals, admissions, etc. as required.
* Liaise and arrange meetings (to include the booking of rooms) as required and to attend meetings and take minutes.
* Manage the agenda and take minutes for the monthly End of Life/GSF meetings.
* Establish and maintain filing and administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure.
* Assist in the organisation, logging and invoicing for medicals, insurance and all other non NHS work.
* Ensure payment for private medical work.
* Receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.
* Maintain the computer clinic system in an accurate and secure manner.
* Assist with the gathering of statistics and information when required.
* Maintain adequate supplies of medical stationary for doctors by ordering where required.
* Action record requests from patients, solicitors and other representatives as required.
* Assist with processes surrounding a patients death and provide support to medical staff and bereaved families in a sensitive, professional manner.
