About You You will hold a qualification in Social Work You will have completed your assisted year of learning – ASYE You will have excellent communication skills when working in complex situations with vulnerable people You will have an excellent ability to assess needs and situations You will be up to date with current legislation and the current complex climate. As a Social Worker in Families First team you will:- Have a Statutory Responsibility and Manage children under Child Protection Plans, Looked After Children (in care), and Children in Need. Handle a varied, highly complex, and challenging caseload requiring original thinking and tailored solutions. Conduct complex assessments of need and risk to devise outcome-focused support plans. Identify, source, and regularly review services to ensure they meet the eligible needs of vulnerable families. Participate in the local authority duty system and conduct child protection investigations under appropriate supervision. Attend strategy meetings, legal proceedings, and Child Protection conferences. Write court reports, statutory reviews, and detailed child protection reports. Lead the safeguarding response with managerial oversight during conferences and reviews. Requirements of you as the Social Worker: Social Work England registration A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) A full UK driving licence DBS clearance Authority to work in the UK Benefits of working in Warwickshire include Volunteering & Wellbeing Day Refer a Friend – Refer a friend to a social worker position in Children & Families, once they have passed their probationary period you can claim £500 Children & Families staff free counselling Relocation Allowance – up to £8000 tax free for specific aspects of relocating. AI – we use Co-pilot and we have a dedicated contract with BEEM (Magic Notes) with bespoke templates for many of our core statutory forms and meetings. Social Work England registration fee – annual registration fee is claimable via payroll expenses Local Government Pension Scheme and Shared Cost AVC Annual leave entitlement is based on your terms and conditions (including hours and grade) plus bank holidays and an additional day at Christmas. You are entitled to a minimum of 28 days leave each year (pro rata if part time).
