Project Engineer Job Description
Our client, a leading local engineering company, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for career progression and professional growth.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the Engineering Team to develop project plans and budgets, ensuring milestones are achieved.
2. Source suppliers based on the bill of materials and engineering specifications, liaising with design engineers for alternatives and variations.
3. Purchase equipment in compliance with budgets and company procedures.
4. Distribute documentation and drawings to subcontractors to ensure correct revisions for fabrication or assembly.
5. Conduct regular visits to subcontractors to coordinate and review production processes.
6. Coordinate with the design team to meet specifications and perform quality checks prior to handover.
7. Ensure FAT tests and quality checks are documented, with snags cleared before products leave for site.
8. Coordinate site preparation activities, including surveys, haulage, safety documentation, lifting equipment, and client handover.
9. Prepare, schedule, and monitor projects following the document control process.
10. Communicate with clients and project participants to interpret needs and present solutions.
11. Manage contracts, including producing responses to compensation events and early warning notices.
Candidate Requirements:
* Engineering qualification with relevant experience in a related discipline.
* Knowledge of SolidWorks / AutoCAD and project experience.
* Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
* Willingness to travel across the UK for projects.
