In this role, the successful candidate will work in a small operational team of Process Engineers and Technicians in the Flexible Pilot Line (FPL) at UKBIC.
Reporting to the Head of Flexible Pilot Line Operations, this position will support the delivery of customer campaigns wherein any element of Electrode manufacturing is required.
As a technician, the successful candidate will be a direct resource for all process and clean room activities and encompass all, but not limited to – clean room and equipment readiness, equipment setup and running, campaign changeover activities, including technical cleaning.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
* Operational responsibility for all Electrode equipment (Mixing, Coating, Calendering and Slitting).
* Clean Room ownership with a need to ensure the condition of the working area is maintained to 5S Standard and aligned to ISO Standards.
* Preparation of Equipment in readiness for campaign start, campaign changeover, and breakdowns, including technical cleaning and preventative maintenance activities.
* Work alongside Process Engineer to ensure equipment is set up in adherence to customer requirements and, where applicable, support/lead validation exercises to define key parameters before campaign start.
* Work alongside the Process Engineer to run equipment aligned to Standard work documentation and specific customer campaign requirements.
* Manage WIP and move customer products into other areas of the facility.
* Recommend and support delivery of continuous improvement activities.
Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Experience Required:
* Setup and running of equipment with raw material handling or converting connotations that have transferable technologies/principles to Electrode Manufacturing.
* Knowledge of Electrode Manufacturing processes in the LIB Industry.
* Appreciation of Electrode Manufacturing risks and root causes.
* Ability to interpret standard work documentation and engineering drawings.
* Experience of working in small multi-disciplinary teams.
* Ability to communicate with a wide audience when prompted.
Skills Required:
* Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Personal Profile:
* Ideally served an Indentured Apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical or Engineering.
* Ideally qualified to ONC/HNC/HND Level 3.
* Excellent team player.
* Self-motivated with an emphasis on task management and adaptability.
