Job description
Our client, a renowned organisation in the Defence & Security sector, is looking for a Principal Product Assurance Engineer to join their Product Assurance Engineering team on a contract basis. The individual will provide professional quality support to the Manufacturing team based in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing independent visibility and assurance that manufacturing and related processes are applied across all projects.
2. Offering support and advice on all quality aspects within UK Manufacturing.
3. Identifying and implementing sustainable process improvements to existing methods and processes.
4. Supporting the identification and reduction of project risk or problem areas associated with process application or compliance.
5. Providing professional support and advice on quality within Manufacturing UK to support business excellence and customer satisfaction.
6. Offering quality assurance assistance to Manufacturing UK to support manufacturing excellence, including quality awareness and process training.
7. Supporting Manufacturing UK on all programmes to achieve cost, time, and quality targets.
8. Ensuring the Company Business Management System is tailored to and implemented in production programmes.
9. Conducting independent assessments and audits to confirm that processes and quality requirements are successfully implemented and improved.
10. Maintaining strong links with Quality Assurance colleagues to achieve quality objectives.
11. Working with Product Assurance Managers to define and implement risk reduction strategies.
12. Interfacing with Customer Representatives (DQAFF) to support the mitigation of quality issues.
Job Requirements:
13. Experience in process-based integrated management systems and business improvement in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
14. Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
15. Quality Audit experience is essential.
16. Extensive knowledge of EN9100/AS9100.
17. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
18. Strong planning and organising skills to handle multiple tasks and deliver set objectives.
19. Ability to identify sustainable business improvements and ensure effective implementation.
20. Understanding of internal and external customer requirements and the ability to respond to them effectively.
21. Self-motivated with a determination to deliver results despite obstacles and setbacks.
22. Awareness of regulatory and certification requirements with the ability to respond appropriately.
