Overview

EHCP Coordination Officer. The starting salary is £36,873 per annum based on a 36-hour week, pro-rata for part-time hours. We are recruiting EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) Coordination Officers to join our SEND service.

Role and responsibilities

As an EHCP Coordination Officer, you’ll work as part of a busy area SEND team, primarily focused on managing the statutory annual review process. Your key responsibilities will include:

* Working directly with families, using a person-centred approach to maintain and update Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Coordinating input from Education, Health, and Care services to ensure each child receives the right support for their needs.
* Advising schools and other settings, helping to ensure EHCPs are clear, accurate, and high quality.

Reflective practice and continuous improvement are key to this role, and you’ll work with children’s Social Care, Health, parents/carers and families, and schools to achieve the best outcomes for the children supported.

Your application and selection

To be considered for shortlisting, your application should evidence the following skills and align with our behaviours:

* Educated to A-level standard or equivalent, with demonstrable understanding of SEND, including the SEND Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014.
* Familiarity with the Local Offer and provision across mainstream and special schools, or willingness to develop this knowledge.
* Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and ability to articulate recommendations in written reports.
* Proven ability to write and amend EHCPs and present relevant information to inform decision-making.
* Experience of working collaboratively with children, young people, and families to ensure their views are heard and applied.
* Extensive experience supporting vulnerable children and young people, particularly those with SEND.
* Clear and confident communication skills, both in writing and in person, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
* Competence in a range of IT tools including MS Office and database management systems.

The role involves travelling to venues across the locality to build professional relationships; willingness and ability to travel around the county is required.

Working arrangements

The roles are open to hybrid working. As a team, we split our time between home and office with a minimum of two days per week in the office. We also visit schools and settings regularly as we continue to build our collaborative working.

Our offer

* 26 days’ holiday, rising to 28 days after 2 years’ service and 31 days after 5 years’ service plus bank holidays.
* Option to buy up to 10 days of additional annual leave.
* A generous local government salary related pension.
* Up to 5 days of carer’s leave and 2 paid volunteering days per year.
* Paternity, adoption and dependent leave.
* Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to support health and wellbeing.
* Learning and development hub with resources.
* Wellbeing and lifestyle discounts including gym, travel, and shopping.
* A chance to make a real difference to the lives of residents.
