Role Overview
We’relooking for a Senior Product Owner to lead the translation of product strategy into clear, actionable priorities for our backend and platform engineering teams.
You willbe responsible forensuring that engineering teams are focused on the highest-impact work, that technical decisions are thoughtfully challenged, and that delivery timelinesremainclear and realistic.
Working closely with backend engineers, infrastructure teams, and product leadership, you will own the engineering backlog and ensure that complex technical initiatives are broken down into well-scoped, deliverable workstreams. You will act as the bridge between product strategy and engineering execution, ensuring that the platform evolves in a scalable, reliable, and commercially aligned way.
Responsibilities
* Translate product and company strategy into a clear, actionable roadmap for backend and platform engineering teams
* Own and prioritise the engineering backlog, balancing product needs, technical dependencies, infrastructure improvements, and scalability requirements
* Work closely with backend and platform engineers to refine technical requirements, challenge assumptions, and ensure the best architectural decisions are made
* Break down complex technical initiatives into cleartickets and milestones that engineering teams can execute against
* Facilitate planning, backlogrefinementand retrospectives for engineering teams
* Ensure engineering priorities are clearly defined, timelines are realistic, and deliveryremainsaligned with broader product goals
* Act as a key interface between product, engineering, and leadership, helping translate technical progress and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
* Monitor delivery progress,identifyblockers early, and work with engineering leadership to keep projects on track
* Continuously evaluate platform performance, scalability, and technical debt to inform prioritisation decisions
Who You Are
* 5+ years of experience as a Technical Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, or Engineering-focused Product role
* Strong experience working directly withbackend, infrastructure, or platform engineering teams
* Comfortable discussing system architecture, APIs, data flows, and technical trade-offs with engineers
* Proven ability to prioritise complex technical workstreams while balancing product, infrastructure, and business needs
* Excellent organisational and communication skills, able to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Experience working in fast-paced startup or scale-up environments
* Familiarity with modern product delivery and engineering tooling (Linear, GitHub, Datadog, etc.)

* Experience working onAI, data platforms, or highly technical SaaS infrastructure
* Familiarity withdistributed systems, data pipelines, or API-driven platforms
* Interest or background infintech, financial services, or quantitative products
