About the Role
We’re working with a leading civils contractor delivering a major infrastructure project in Leiston. This is a key position for an experienced Site Agent with a strong civils background who can manage subcontractors, enforce safety and quality standards, and drive programme delivery.
You’ll be responsible for civil packages including Section 278 works, roads, drainage, and enabling works, ideally in a high-compliance or nuclear-regulated environment.
Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day site operations for civils packages
*
Supervise subcontractors and ensure HSEQ standards are upheld
*
Coordinate with Engineers, Project Managers, and Planners
*
Monitor site progress and report against programme
*
Ensure all works comply with technical specs and industry regulations
*
Lead site meetings, inductions, and toolbox talks
*
Maintain site records including RAMS, ITPs, daily reports, and safety audits
*
Liaise with stakeholders and client-side teams as needed
Essential Requirements
*
Minimum 7 years’ experience in civil engineering delivery
*
Proven experience as Site Agent or Sub Agent on infrastructure projects
*
Background in:
*
Section 278 works
*
Road and drainage construction
*
Infrastructure and groundworks
*
Valid SMSTS
*
Black CSCS card (Management level)
*
Strong understanding of HSEQ protocols, QA procedures, and site documentation
*
Ability to lead site teams and coordinate complex works
Desirable Experience
*
Worked on or near nuclear facilities (e.g. Hinkley, Sellafield, Sizewell)
*
Knowledge of CDM regulations, temporary works, and nuclear safety protocols
*
Familiar with NEC contract environments
*
Able to interpret and manage ITPs and technical drawings
*
Located within travel distance of Suffolk or open to lodging
