Overview
Systems/Test Engineer
The Portfolio organizes and optimizes our life-cycle engineering/sustainment functions by combining field system sustainment with current operations in quick reaction, urgent operational needs, and direct field support mission areas into the same portfolio of responsibility. A skilled and experienced Test Engineer is sought to join our team in support of critical defense acquisition programs. The successful candidate will have extensive expertise in test engineering, including knowledge of DoDI 5000 and the Defense Acquisition System, DA PAM 73-1, IEEE-29148 and will contribute to the design, execution, and evaluation of comprehensive testing strategies. This role also involves utilizing cutting-edge tools and technologies, such as MATLAB, Python and other relevant software, to analyze data received from various sensors.
Responsibilities
* Develop, plan, integrate, coordinate, and execute integrated based evaluations for the Army's C5ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) systems that align with program requirements and applicable regulations.
* Provide Army material acquisition leaders independent System Evaluation Plans/Reports or System Assessments on the operational effectiveness, suitability, and survivability of equipment used by contractors, soldiers, and foreign partners.
* Develop test strategies, test and evaluation plans and concepts; coordinate with Operational Test Command, Capabilities Managers, and Program Managers to ensure completeness of test events and test reports.
* Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of military and civilian stakeholders from across the acquisition community to ensure comprehensive Test and Evaluations.
* Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in test engineering to enhance test methods and tools.
* Identify, document, and analyze test results to uncover issues; collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve defects and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications
* Experience: 5 or more years as a Test Engineer.
* Working knowledge of DoDI 5000 and the Defense Acquisition System.
* Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Engineering; a master’s degree or higher may substitute for 3 years of experience.
* DAWIA Practitioner Certification in Test and Evaluation.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Expertise in test and evaluation types and processes; familiarity with advanced test automation tools and methodologies.
* Experience with analysis tools such as MATLAB and Python; experience with CAD and Windchill; experience performing system audits and quality inspections.
* Security/Access: Active Secret clearance; this position is SECRET or the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance/access. A Single Scope Background Investigation is required for access and must be completed prior to hiring and periodically thereafter.
Additional Information
* The employee is expected to travel in a Temporary Duty (TDY) status for at least 50% of the time.
