Sales Director – Energy Brokerage | UK
My client, a high-growth, PE-backed energy brokerage and advisory firm, is seeking a dynamic Sales Director to lead and rapidly scale its direct sales function. With an aggressive M&A strategy and ambitious growth targets, this is a rare opportunity to take a leadership role in a buy-and-build environment at a pivotal point in its growth journey.
The business is set to grow from 6 to 25+ direct sales team members in the next 6 months, including 3–4 strong senior leaders. While capable, these leaders will benefit from guidance and structure from someone who's led larger, more complex sales organisations and can embed the rigour, disciplines, and scalability needed for sustained growth.
We're looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, has experience in this area (ideally in energy or analogous sectors such as insurance brokerage), and is excited to help shape and execute a consolidation and growth strategy again, this time in the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:Own and grow the direct sales channel, including team structure, hiring, coaching, and performance management.Build scalable sales strategies and processes that support rapid team expansion and M&A integration.Drive revenue across new business, renewals, and cross-sell of value-added services (e.g. solar, energy audits, monitoring).Collaborate with executive leadership to refine and execute the go-to-market strategy.Deliver against sales P&L targets while improving client retention and lifetime value.
About You:Proven track record of building and scaling high-performance B2B sales teams in fast-growth environments.Hands-on, people-first leader who can guide both experienced and developing talent.Brings sales rigour, process, and commercial structure that scales across a multi-site or multi-entity organisation.Experience in energy, Solar-as-a-Service, or B2B services (e.g. insurance brokerage) preferred.Exposure to private equity-backed, buy-and-build growth models is a strong advantage.
