Job Summary

Job title: Teaching Assistant OR Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Location: Spen Brook School – Blackpool
Teaching Assistant Salary: £22,000 to £23,500
HLTA salary: £25,000 to £27,000

Hexagon Care Services is a national provider of residential care, education, and therapy for young people. With over 80 homes and schools across England, we work closely with local authorities to deliver specialist services, including therapeutic care, crisis intervention, and support for children with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. Spen Brook supports up to 16 students aged between 11-18. It offers a broad and balanced curriculum which is in line with the national curriculum. At KS4 students have the opportunity to study ASDAN, Functional Skills and GCSEs for the more academically able.

We are looking to recruit a teaching assistant. Previous experience working as a teaching assistant/higher level teaching assistant is essential, and experience of supporting SEMH people or working in a secondary school is advantageous for this role. If you enjoy working with small pupil numbers, supporting with a mixture of academic and practical/vocational subjects and have share a passion for supporting young people we want to hear from you!

We are looking to appoint a teaching assistant with a strong understanding of learners with additional needs who require a tailored and bespoke approach to education.

The successful post-holder will have the passion and vision to develop and deliver high quality education. The school will work in close partnership with other professionals to provide a holistic package of support which may also include children living in care and accessing therapeutic support.

Please note, Hexagon Care Services does not hold a sponsorship licence and as such we are unable to support any candidates who do not already have right to work. This is a permanent position, if you have right to work but with an expiry date, we are more than welcome to receive your application but please note you would only be eligible for an interim contract linked to your RTW expiry.
