voestalpine Turnout Technology UK Limited is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Controller to join our team. The Finance Controller will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth and sustainability. We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. Responsibilities will also include financial risk management. This is an exciting opportunity for an established Finance Manager/Controller seeking a diverse role, or for an individual on the upward curve of their career eager to gain broad exposure to responsibilities for future career development, supported by an experienced FD.
Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting:
2. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the group.
3. Oversee the production of Management Accounts and KPIs, ensuring deadlines are met.
4. Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management and stakeholders.
5. Present and explain variances to the Finance Director and SMT heads of department.
6. Challenge department heads on financial performance.
7. Support the preparation of annual accounts.
8. Oversee weekly reporting and dashboards.
9. Manage month-end and year-end routines.
10. Report financial information to external stakeholders.
11. Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost savings.
Financial Controls
1. Oversee CAPEX requests, processes, and controls.
2. Prepare and oversee Balance Sheet reconciliations.
3. Manage Fixed Assets, depreciation, additions, and disposals.
4. Ensure proper assessment of stock, maintenance, and provisions.
5. Ensure expense and credit card policies are followed.
Budgeting & Forecasting
1. Manage financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
2. Assist in producing annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
3. Support commercial assessments of new contracts and tenders.
4. Prepare budgets and mid-term plans.
Audit
1. Coordinate and lead annual audits.
2. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
3. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
4. Manage year-end processes, liaising with auditors and tax advisers.
5. Prepare tax packs and accounts analysis for statutory and tax purposes.
6. Gather information for R&D tax claims and reconcile analyses.
Working Capital Management
1. Manage cash flow and rolling 13-week forecasts.
2. Oversee supplier payments and communication.
3. Manage debtor invoicing and collections.
4. Authorize bank payments.
5. Prepare quarterly VAT returns.
Other Duties
1. Collaborate across departments to support business objectives.
2. Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering professional growth.
3. Lead continuous improvement and systems review projects.
Qualifications
* Minimum Level 3 ACA qualification, ideally Level 4 ACA.
* Proven experience as a Financial Controller.
* At least 5 years of combined accounting and finance experience.
* Advanced degree in Accounting.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and reporting standards.
* Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Strong leadership and team management abilities.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Chartered Accountant with audit experience.
* High integrity and professionalism.
What We Offer
Core hours: 35.5 hours/week:
* 0800 – 1600 Monday,
* 0800 – 1630 Tuesday to Thursday,
* 0800 – 1200 Friday,
