TrainEEAST are seeking a new Commercial Training Officer to join our friendly and hard working team on a Casual basis.

This vacancy is trust wide with training locations across the east of England and the wider UK. We encourage applicants from all sectors in order to build up our geographical resilience.

Whilst trainEEAST is based in Hellesdon, it is anticipated that bank CTOs will not be required to regularly travel to the office (other than for any management, training or administration requirements).

When required, your role will involve delivery of high-quality training to our current client base in the East of England and beyond.

Current clients include a variety of large companies, NHS trusts, The police, Fire and Rescue Services, Holiday sites and firms.

With recent expansion to our client base, we are seeking a positive individual to ensure we can continue delivering the best service we can.

We are also looking to onboard RCUK ILS and PILS instructors - this advert also covers this role within TrainEEAST

Main duties of the job

The suitable candidate will be an experienced trainer with an acreddited qualification or willing to work towards one in their own time, self-motivated, comfortable with lone working, well organised, resourceful with excellent people skills.

RCUK ILS and PILS instructors are expected to have had recognised instructor potential and have undertaken a GIC course or ILSi. You must also have completed all the relevant ICs to be able to undertake instruction.

Experience working front-line with an Emergency Ambulance Service is highly desirable.

A full UK Driving Licence is essential (a maximum of 3 points for minor motoring offences only will be considered).

Working for our organisation

TrainEEAST are the commercial training branch of the east of England Ambulance Service. We are predominantly based in Hellesdon Ambulance Station and deliver training across the UK, with clients as far as Wales and Nottingham.

We encourage a positive work environment, with members of the team encouraged to meet up regularly to share ideas and debrief on courses.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Day to day delivery of pre-hospital first aid training, including First Aid courses, D13, FREC courses, BLS and ILS, moving and handling, fire safety, medical gases and many more.

Commercial Training Officers are required to have good organisational skills, able to complete and safely manage paperwork for all of their courses.

Fantastic communication skills to be used with direct management, the administration team, fellow Training Officers, clients and learners.

Confidence using computers and other AV equipment, including the full Microsoft suite of applications.

As a representative of the East of England Ambulance Service, you must adhere to the Trust's Visions and Values.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

1. Formal education and/or equivalent experience to Diploma Level.
2. Regulated Pre-Hospital Clinical Qualification, equivalent to Emergency Medical Technician or above, eg AAP, IHCD Technician, HCPC Registered Paramedic, fully qualified Pre- Hospital Nurse Practitioner (EEAST)
3. Teaching/training qualification, eg PTTLLS, DTTLLS, L3 AET, L3 CAVA, L4 CET, L5 DET.
4. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.

Desirable criteria

5. Level 4 internal Quality Assurance Qualification
6. Membership of Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH
7. Relevant TTT Certificate in a relevant subject (eg moving and handling)
8. RCUK ALS/ILS provider.
9. GIC ALS/ILS instructor with RCUK.

Experience

Essential criteria

10. Demonstrable clinical experience in a frontline emergency response role with an NHS Ambulance Service or PAS provider working on NHS contracts.
11. Experience delivering training in a related field
12. Experience of delivering and catering to learners from diverse backgrounds and experiences with differing needs.
13. Work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable criteria

14. Experience of delivering courses offered by TrainEEAST.
15. Pre-registration with awarding organisations to deliver courses offered by TrainEEAST.

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria

16. Knowledge and understanding of the principles of equality of opportunities and diversity in relation to the organisation, staff and service users
17. Ability to lead learners on course of education, and maintain classroom order and respect.
18. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
19. Excellent planning and organisational skills.

Desirable criteria

20. Understanding of awarding organisations, standards of practice, and Ofqual regulation.
21. Knowledge of the TrainEEAST course portfolio and national standards related to courses delivered.
22. Knowledge and understanding of quality assurance processes relating to nationally accredited, regulated qualifications.
23. Proven ability to deliver training programmes to meet programme and student learning objectives, including theory, practical delivery and assessment.
24. Ability to support with the design and implementation of changes to improve systems and processes.

Personal Qualities, Abilities and Attributes

Essential criteria

25. Ability to prioritise tasks and to manage conflicting demands on time and resources to deliver objectives.
26. Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with situations in a sensitive manner
27. Confidence to speak up when something is not right, whether within EEAST or a client's organisation.
28. Honesty to raise when something has gone wrong or when you are out of your depth.
29. Understand and utilise the required safeguarding, prevent and FTSU pathways within the Trust and organisations we work with.
30. Ability to work out of hours when required to meet client needs.
31. Full UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points, with an ability to drive across the UK including overnight stays, when necessary

You are required to hold a full UK manual driving licence with 1 year driving experience (a maximum of 3 penalty points for minor motoring offences will be considered).
