We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary.

Role Overview
The Accounts Assistant will handle general accounting duties, including managing cashbooks, purchase and sales ledgers, payments, and month-end procedures. You will liaise with senior management and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cash and Bank Management: Download daily bank statements, update cashbooks, organize direct debits.
2. Purchase Ledger Management: Enter invoices, control authorizations, transfer invoices to the ledger.
3. Sales Ledger Management: Post cash receipts, organize refunds.
4. Month-End/Year-End Routines: Coordinate ledger processes, prepare reports.
5. Financial Support: Prepare schedules, assist with audits and reports.
6. Authority Limits: Decline or delay payments outside guidelines.
7. Additional Tasks: Expenses, Fixed Assets management.
Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (Grade C or above)
* AAT membership (student or qualified)
* Strong organizational skills, numeracy, attention to detail
* Experience in a similar role within a £60M+ organization
* Professional appearance and demeanor
* Effective communication skills
* Ability to multitask
* Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (Pegasus Opera or similar), Barclays.NET
