Description Scope: The laboratory specializes in Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT), including: PGT-A: Aneuploidies PGT-SR: Structural Rearrangements PGT-M: Monogenic or Single Gene Defects This is an entry-level clinical laboratory scientist role operating under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, within a regulated environment compliant with ISO 15189:2012 standards. Job Summary: The role involves processing and analysis of clinical samples, data management, laboratory and equipment maintenance, and inventory control. All activities are performed in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and GDPR requirements to ensure patient confidentiality and data integrity. Essential Functions & Accountabilities: Receive, accession, prepare, process, analyze, store, and report on clinical samples. Perform Whole Genome Amplification (WGA) and subsequent analysis using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) or other analytical techniques. Prepare and review results and reports. Operate manual and automated clinical instruments. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment. Manage inventory of consumables and reagents, including quality control. Adhere to SOPs and revise/write SOPs as needed. Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment. Perform accurate data entry and maintain Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Participate in lab meetings and Continuous Professional Development (CPD). Perform other duties as assigned. Availability for occasional overtime, including weekends. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Biomedical Sciences, Genetics, Biology, Chemistry) Fluent English (spoken and written) Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook Preferred: Master’s degree, ideally in Reproductive Genetics, Women’s Health, or Preimplantation Genetics Experience in a regulated laboratory environment Impeccable record keeping and Good Documentation Practices Strong pipetting and laboratory techniques Organizational and time management skills Attention to detail Teamwork, patience, and excellent communication skills Structured and systematic approach Work Environment: Clinical laboratory setting Regulated environment under ISO 15189:2012 Requires adherence to strict SOPs and QMS May involve occasional overtime and weekend work Experience: 0–2 years of experience in a similar role Experience in regulated environments is desirable Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (required) Master’s degree in relevant field (preferred)
