The Dyson Cancer Centre is a state-of-the-art facility providing cancer services to oncology and haematology patients.
We seek a motivated, creative individual with excellent organisational skills to shape this educational role within our Day Unit.
The Clinical Practice Education Facilitator will support the development of team members' competence and knowledge in this advancing nursing field.
You will collaborate with Senior Staff to create and maintain an effective learning environment, ensuring clinical practice aligns with current oncology standards. The education focus initially will be on Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) competencies within the UKONS Passport, along with ongoing updates in the field.
Main duties of the job
* Lead staff induction and deliver education and professional development programs for nursing staff in the Medlock Unit, fostering a learning culture.
* Manage the induction process for new staff, including experienced and novice personnel across various roles.
* Facilitate annual SACT update training in collaboration with the SACT CNS team.
* Deliver ad hoc training for new treatments, leading in-house teaching sessions.
* Ensure staff are trained and competent in equipment use within the clinical area.
* Support staff in their professional development, guiding them to relevant formal courses.
* Allocate supervisors/mentors for induction in consultation with senior staff.
* Provide ongoing support to new staff and resolve any issues effectively.
