The Council are looking for a Solicitor to work within the Education, Adult Social Care and Children's Social Care department. Key details: Pay: £55 p/h umbrella Location: Badminton Road, Council Offices Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday Working arrangements: Hybrid Contract: Temporary role until 30/01/2026Duties: Attend Court Chairing and attending round table meetings Ensuring the effective delivery of legal advice on children's social care, including Court of Protection Cases, Education Law and Adult Social Care Law. To include SEND advice, school admission, school attendance, advice to panels hearing appeals against refusal of home to school transport and school admission appeals. Manage a mixed case load of Court of Protection cases; Welfare Applications, Section 21A appeals and applications under the Re X process. Dealing with education queries, including judicial reviews, particularly responding to pre-action protocol letters. Skills/Knowledge: An understanding of Children's Social Care Law, Court of Protection Law, Education Law and can demonstrate knowledge of Data Protection Law.
