Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that from 1 April 2023, candidates for roles requiring PVG membership will need to cover the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full-time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above, including teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,285 per annum / £16.64 per hour).
The Council will initially pay for the PVG membership cost—£18 for existing PVG scheme members or £59 for non-members—and this amount will be deducted from the employee’s first full month’s salary.
The Civil Enforcement Appeals team handles the administration and processing of appeals related to Parking Penalty Charge Notices, Bus Lane Enforcement Charge Notices, and Low Emission Zone Penalty Charge Notices issued across the City. The team also manages parking permits for NHS, Bon Accord Care, Contractors, and the Council’s voucher parking scheme. It is part of the wider Revenue and Benefits team.
Minimum Requirements:
Four Standard Grades at level 3 or above, including English and Mathematics or Arithmetic, or extensive knowledge of Decriminalised Parking, Bus Lane Enforcement, Low Emission Zone, and related statutory appeals processes.
Key Skills and Abilities:
* Good numeracy, analytical, and reasoning skills
* Ability to compose and write letters effectively
* Proficiency in using various computer packages
* Ability to work under conflicting and demanding deadlines
* Understanding of Decriminalised Parking, Bus Lane Enforcement, and Enforcement of Low Emission Zones
