Applications are invited for the post of Fixed Term Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust based at Lincoln County Hospital. Main duties of the job Womens Health Clinical Business Unit has 3 specialties, Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Breast Services. The service is delivered over the 4 main sites; Pilgrim, Louth, Lincoln and Grantham, as well as smaller peripheral sites. The Departments are very busy and work in a friendly and high pressure environment. There are elective and emergency admissions on a daily basis and targets to adhere to. There is support from the Clinical Directors for new developments and new business opportunities. The services are led by the Clinical Directors. It is essential that applicants can demonstrate possession of equivalent experience within Gynaecology and Labour Ward practice, with appropriate qualifications. Qualifications Essential • Full GMC Registration • MRCOG or Equivalent • CCST or equivalent Desirable • ATSM in Advanced labour ward practice Clinical experience and effectiveness Essential • Clinical training and experience in general obstetrics and gynaecology equivalent to that required for a UK CCST • Experienced in leading MDT process • Must be proficient in obstetrics and Labour ward • Must be proficient in managing acute gynaecology and early pregnancy problems Desirable • Participate in risk management / Multi professional drills Management and administrative experience Essential • Experience in developing clinical guidelines, policies and care pathways Desirable • Evidence of management, administration and audit experience Teaching and training experience Essential • Experience of supervising junior medical staff. Desirable • Certification in Medical education Personal attributes Essential • Motivation and enthusiasm to drive change and service transformation. • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, relatives, GPs, nurses and other agencies • Team player with enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure • Good organisational and management skills • Resident within 10 miles or 30 minutes of the hospital Desirable • Demonstrate evidence of service transformation
