Your Skills, Their Success, Supporting the Community's Future - Join us as a Carpentry Lecturer. As a Lecturer in Carpentry at EKC Broadstairs College, you'll use your industry knowledge and practical skills to shape the future workforce. You'll teach, train and assess students across a variety of learning environments, ensuring every learner gains the hands-on skills and confidence they need to succeed in the carpentry trade.
Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and practical carpentry lessons, workshops and demonstrations.
* Support and inspire learners to reach their full potential.
* Lead and manage study programmes and courses within carpentry.
* Design, deliver and evaluate learning programmes to meet industry standards.
* Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
Salary and progression
Two salary scale points for Lecturer positions. All candidates start at the introductory salary scale point unless criteria are met. Lecturers will normally move to the highest salary scale after one full academic year of teaching. Lecturers must be in post by 1st September in the given year to qualify. Internal applicants in the same role may qualify for the higher salary scale with clarification sought as needed.
Person specification
* Be highly organised, creative and motivated, with the ability to plan and deliver engaging carpentry lessons that bring the subject to life.
* Strong interpersonal skills to connect with learners and assess progress to ensure job-ready skills.
* A positive outlook and empathetic approach to supporting learners.
* Strong classroom management and the ability to inspire confidence in students.
* Experience teaching or delivering training in the workplace (not essential – training will be provided).
* Ability to teach across a range of programmes, from Level 1 through to Level 3.
* Commitment to motivating learners to achieve and reach their full potential.
