Early Years Assistant – Fixed Term

Stanwell Nursery School (fixed term, ending 26/06/2026)

Salary: £25,905 – £26,111 (pro rata for part time & sessional)

Hours: 25 per week, 39 weeks sessional

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic team‑player who works collaboratively as a member of the early years team within council early years provision. Assisting in meeting the educational, care and welfare needs of all children and ensuring those with additional support needs who can attend a mainstream provision can effectively access the curriculum.

To be flexible and assist in carrying out general clerical duties as and when required in support of children’s learning, and to provide support and assistance in the day‑to‑day operations of the Early Years Centre as directed by the Head Teacher/Head of Centre or nominated staff.


Responsibilities

* Assist in meeting the educational, care and welfare needs of all children.
* Ensure children with additional support needs can access the mainstream curriculum.
* Assist with general clerical duties to support children’s learning.
* Provide support and assistance in the day‑to‑day operations of the Early Years Centre as directed.


Qualifications & Requirements

* Regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
* Must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
* Overseas Criminal Record Check required if spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years.
* Unconditional offer of employment and commencement contingent upon satisfactory outcome of pre‑employment checks.
