The role of a Territory Sales Consultant is an exciting opportunity to drive sales and product awareness within B&Q.
This position is a part time role based across Jersey and Guernsey and is a 6 month Fixed Term Contract starting 4th January 2024.
Sales
1. Establish strong selling relationships with store associates, store management and other customer contacts
2. Continually promote and represent the brand and product strengths to B&Q store teams and consumers.
3. Utilize the CRM system to document sales calls and store visits.
4. Conduct events to promote products and to increase sales.
5. Ensuring in store activations and business activity are executed successfully in each store.
6. Prepare performance summary to Regional Manager of Sales performance, Training, Business Directed Activity and In Store Activations monthly that meet or exceed goals
7. Develop, promote, implement and evaluate Partnerships across customer base including periodic formal meetings with Store Unit Managers as directed by the business
8. Ensure that the Sherwin Williams brands are leveraged across the customer base
9. Identify, approach and introduce tradesmen to our brands, gaining consent to contact them about future promotions and building relationships with contractors to further grow business in the pro painting sector
10. To conduct and utalise daily product demonstration tables during store visits, to showcase the features and benefits of our product portfolio, to both store colleagues and customers alike.
Training
11. Conduct product knowledge training sessions for all B&Q Store teams. Training should include features, benefits as well as selling skills and may include a demo of the products.
12. Conduct sales training to current and newly hired B&Q Store Team
13. Train store teams in all equipment, and in Store Excellence and maintenance.. tinting machines, spectrometers, shakers etc.
14. Analysing weekly sales data provided, to tailor training sessions to be specific to the requirements on a store-by-store basis
Service
15. Identify opportunities in service/upselling and maximizing resource at store level with solution
16. Assist store teams with all customer service activity including tinting/mixing paint as needed.
17. Review the department of all Sherwin Williams product portfolio. Review all products on the shelf to ensure products are fully stocked and properly displayed. Replace defected products (dents, labels,etc)
18. Leading by example in demonstrating a first-class customer service / engagement, by promoting product features and benefits, to help raise awareness and instill confidence in the paint tinting proposition available in all stores.
Merchandising / Color Collateral / Displays
19. Maintain store signage, merchandising displays, color chip and color card stock.
20. Ordering inventory of collateral to ensure inventory is stocked.
Position requirements:
21. 1+ year previous experience in Customer Service, Sales, Marketing or other Business related field.
22. Ability to work a flexible work schedule. This includes evenings and weekends
23. Must have a valid driver’s license and have access to own vehicle
24. Strong Organizational & Communication skills
25. Conducting presentations to groups of employees
26. Experience in sales, customer service or merchandising
27. Ability to work independently
28. Must have the ability to learn to operate the in store tinting machines
29. Must be able to operate a smart phone & computer Assessing training needs
30. Previous paint/coatings experience
