Spire Regency Hospital, Macclesfield has an opportunity for a Bank Ward Clerk to join their team, on a bank/occasional basis to cover annual leave and sickness. You will be part of a team that prides itself on providing exemplary service to our Patients, Visitors and Colleagues at all times.

Contract type: Bank, Zero hours
Working hours: Any time between 7 am and 7 pm Monday to Friday. Weekends available.
As Ward Clerk, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the ward for patients, visitors and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Greet and receive patients, visitors and other members of staff to the wards in a polite and professional manner and to undertake general reception duties
* Answer the telephone and relay accurate messages as appropriate
* Maintain effective communications between patients, their relatives and the team within the department
* Liaise with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communications are maintained within the department
* Reports complaints or concerns to the Nurse in charge/shift leader
* Ensure that patient notes are up to date and in correct order and are taken to the appropriate place be it coders or secretary when a patient episode is complete
* Ensure that all filing of results and other information is accurately filed in the patient’s notes
* Liaise with the all relevant department and the patient to ensure accurate data in the system (admissions, discharge and transfer of patients)
* Booking of outpatients’ appointments on the system or with the relevant hospital departments and the arranging of transport
* Ensure discharge notes are completed by the medical staff and sent to GP’s within 24 hours of discharge and results are filed prior to leaving ward

* Previous experience in similar environment is desirable but not essential
* Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
