We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Residential Support Worker (Senior Mentor) to join a well-established childrens residential service supporting young people with autism, complex needs, and challenging behaviour.

You will help create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where young people can develop emotionally, socially, and personally.
Key Responsibilities
* Build positive, trusting relationships and act as a role model
* Provide day-to-day care, supervision, and emotional support
* Promote positive behaviour and manage challenging situations appropriately
* Work as a Key Worker, completing case notes, reports, and care planning
* Support education, social development, and recreational activities
* Safeguard and promote the welfare of all young people
Senior / Leadership Duties
* Lead shifts when required and cover in the absence of senior staff
* Support, mentor, and guide junior staff members
* Contribute to staff meetings, supervision, and training
* Assist with rota planning and team coordination
Care Planning & Administration
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of young peoples progress
* Contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings and care reviews
* Complete social and emotional reports when required
General Responsibilities
* Transport young people to school, appointments, and activities (driving required)
* Maintain a clean, safe, and homely environment
* Participate in sleep-in shifts (flexibility available)
* Undertake additional reasonable duties as required
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
* Experienced in working with children or young people with complex needs or challenging behaviour
* Knowledgeable in trauma-informed care and child development
* Calm, resilient, and confident in managing difficult situations
* A strong communicator and team player
* Naturally supportive with leadership potential
Essential Requirements:
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Right to work full-time in the UK (no restrictions)
Desirable:
* Level 3/4 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent
* Previous experience in a senior or shift-leading role
